Gardening is most fun when you do it with a friend!
I have made some life changes and am no longer living on the farm where I was growing those amazing tall bearded irises and fancy daylilies I loved so much.
My garden space is limited now to what I can grow inside and to a porch full of very happy and well cared for seasonal potted plants.
Container gardening is much easier on me than it was gardening out on the farm. There's not so much wear and tear on my weak left knee living here in the apartment with so little space for planting.
I'm one of those people that don't do too well at moderation. "Less is better" is a lesson that it took me a lot longer to learn than it takes for most folks.
Anyway, although life is simpler now than it was on the farm, I miss my garden friends that used to come over whenever I was outside digging to see what treasures I was planting. I did the same and reciprocated, always curious too to see what amazing plants they were putting into the ground too. And we called each other when we saw those special spectacular blooms that you just have to share with someone who understands them exactly the way you do! These friends I still keep in touch with even though it's a bit different now. We still talk about plants - That hasn't changed. I hope it never does!
I decided to keep Cathy's Hobby Garden website to share my photos and knowledge of bearded irises and daylilies.
